Classification: Umbria Rosso IGP Grape variety: Cannajolo 100% Semi-sweet. The story is that of a Pope. One of those unconventional ones who chose Perugia as his home. Martin IV, born Simon de Brion, was crowned Pope in Orvieto on March 23, 1281, and spent the last phase of his life in Perugia. A lover of the pleasures of good food, the figure of Simon de Brion was made immortal by Dante Alighieri, who places him among the gluttonous in the sixth terrace of Purgatory in the Divine Comedy. What was the sin to be atoned for? Two irresistible passions: lake eels, washed down with a special vernaccia, made from Canajolo grapes. The same ones we celebrate today in this semi-sweet wine with floral and fruity notes, ideal for ending every friendly gathering with solemn sweetness. 12% vol. 75 cl.
